I have to admit, there are days when I wake up and think to myself “what if there’s nothing to write about today?” Or “what am I gonna do if there’s nothing interesting in the news?” That’s usually about the time I remember that we live in COVID Clown World, and there’s never a shortage of lunacy here. The moment beforehand is called fear, and once you learn to recognize this particular animal, it becomes much easier to keep moving and get started on the things in your own life that truly matter.

Will today – September 27, 2021 – be remembered as the day New York state put a metaphorical gun to the heads of conscientious healthcare workers and forced them to take a poison death shot just to earn a paycheck in their chosen field? I don’t know about you, but that’s exactly what I want: some random National Guardsman providing my life-saving medical treatment. That’s sarcasm, by the way.

If you find yourself questioning that assertion, take a few moments to reflect on all the aspects of your own daily life that would grind to a screeching halt if the internet suddenly and unexpectedly went offline – and didn’t come back on, maybe for weeks. Ok, now that we have at least a basic grasp on that concept, understand that the ability to “shut off the internet” scales down several levels from the top(i.e. national, regional, local). So how would your life be different if you woke up tomorrow morning and there was no internet? Take all the time you need to answer that question. Just know that it likely comes with an expiration date.
