“It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance.”
-Thomas Sowell
Alright, let’s get to it.
Australia is an Attention Whore
I found the last defiant resident on the island continent. You’re never gonna believe it, but he’s actually a senator from Queensland. We need to introduce this cat to Rand Paul.
Making a more compelling argument, Hiroyuki Hamada puts everything on the table for Off Guardian – in the most sobering way possible:
Every now and then the simulation starts winking at me, and it’s just too egregious to ignore. Below is a reproduced example of this egregious winking from the previous essay, which tickled me to no end.
Coming Apart at the Seams
I’m a big fan of the folks that supply the Foundation for Economic Education with content, in case you hadn’t noticed. It just seems like whenever the world appears to be total insanity incarnate, the soothing words of one of their libertarian-minded op-eds puts everything back into the proper perspective. In the CDC Just Proved Milton Friedman Right(Again!), Brad Polumbo outlines why quasi-religious agencies like the CDC should absolutely NOT be making economic decisions and edicts.
Rest assured, though, that at least the BBC is always thinking about your children. Probably because they’re run by pedophiles.
Writing for Sovereign Man, Simon Black explains how being vigilant for the adoption of a social credit system in the United States is missing the point. It’s already here – China’s “Social Credit” System Has Arrived to America. And make no mistake about it, if you use one of the “credit boosting” services like Credit Karma, then you are already a commodity in the social credit market.
Hey, remember that lawsuit against Zoom? Where they were accused of selling user data to Facebook and Google without user consent? Yeah, that lawsuit; big surprise – there’s been a settlement.
The comments were the most interesting part of that post for me.
Good God, is it Beer-Thirty Yet?
Before we wrap things up for today, I want to take a moment to highlight one of my favorite independent media outlets. The Last American Vagabond has been producing excellent work for a very long with minimal funding, and always under the threat of censorship. Take some time to show Ryan, Whitney, Derrick, Taylor, and all of the great folks at TLAV some love while the predator class still allows us to.
The crazy train just keeps barreling down the tracks, don’t it? Oh well, I guess the best thing we can do at a time like this is try to make sense of it together. Otherwise, crazy might just take us over the edge with it.
